M8 Stock Music App Not Working
ProblemI recently loaded a 128gb micro SD card with my music library and ever since I cannot get the stock music app to work. Poweramp however works just fine but there are things I miss about the stock app like the visualizer and song lyrics. Any ideas?
Solution: You should definitely try clearing the cache and data of your stock music app first to see whether this is just an app related problem.
  • From a home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  • Tap Settings.
  • From the DEVICE section, tap App manager.
  • From the ALL tab, tap the stock music app.
  • Tap Clear cache.
  • Tap Clear data.
If that does not work then try reseting the app.
  • From a home screen, tap Apps
  • Tap Settings.
  • From the DEVICE section, tap App manager.
  • From the ALL screen, select the stock music player app.
  • From the Show notifications section, tap Force stop.
  • From the ‘Force stop?’ prompt, tap OK to confirm.
  • From the STORAGE’ section, tap Clear data.
  • From the ‘Delete app data?’ prompt, tap OK to confirm.
M8 Dual Capture Mode Issue
ProblemHello, when I first bought the HTC one M8 on 15 Dec 2014, camera modes Dual Capture and Video were available, however after a HTC prompted software update, these were replaced by Split Capture & Photo Booth, is there a way to get Dual Capture (a very good mode) and Video reinstated?
  • I have Android version 4.4.4
  • HTC Sense version 6.0
  • Software number 3.32.710.9
  • HTC SDK API level 6.25
  • Kernal version 3.4.0-ga90a790 and @ABM105 #1 SMP PREEMPT
  • Baseband version 1.22.21331147A1.29G_20.67.4196.01_F
  • Build number 3.32.710.9 CL397296 release-keys.
Thank you for any help that you can provide.
Solution: The latest update for this model brings many new features to the phone one of which is Split Capture which is an upgrade from the previous Dual Capture feature. Unfortunately, once your phone is running on the latest software version the Dual Capture feature is taken out of the phone.
Getting the old feature back is possible but is a lengthy process. You will have to root your phone then get a copy of the old firmware and flash it on your device.
M8 Can’t Find Bluetooth Devices
ProblemMy HTC one m8 will not find any Bluetooth device. Others can find me but I can’t find them… I noticed the issue because I purchased a Bluetooth speaker system. My phone won’t see the speakers but the person I live with can connect and play music through it so I know its not my speakers… I want to pair with the speakers any help with this?
Solution: The first thing you should do is to try to manually scan for your Bluetooth device.
  • With two fingers, swipe down from the status bar to open Quick Settings.
  • Touch the BLUETOOTH tile to turn Bluetooth on.
  • Touch More settings icon below the BLUETOOTH tile to open the Bluetooth screen.
  • With two fingers, swipe down from the status bar to open Quick Settings.
  • Touch the BLUETOOTH tile to turn Bluetooth on.
  • Touch More settings icon below the BLUETOOTH tile to open the Bluetooth screen.
  • If you don’t see your headset listed, touch Scan for devices to refresh the list.
  • When you see the name of your Bluetooth device in the Available Devices section, touch the name. Your phone pairs with the it and the connection status is displayed in the Paired Devices section.
If the issue still persists then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data first as this will be deleted in the process. Turn of the fast boot option of your phone as well.
  • Turn of your phone
  • Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
  • Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  • Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.
If after performing a factory reset your phone still can’t detect a Bluetooth device then this might already be a hardware related problem. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
M8 Random Typing Issue
ProblemHi I have an htc m8 and am having major problems with text input it keeps jumping when im trying to type . Am unable to use predictive text or any special keyboard functions as its typing random things and doing odd stuff . I have tried using other keyboards but the issue still the same . Do u have any advice please am considering returning the phone.
Solution: You should first check if a certain app you installed is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. Make sure to turn off your phone’s Fast boot option first.
  • Press and hold the Power button (located on the top edge of the device) until the ‘Phone options’ prompt appears then release.
  • Tap and hold Power off until the ‘Reboot to safe mode’ prompt appears then release.
  • From the ‘Reboot to safe mode’ prompt, tap RESTART to confirm.
  • Allow approximately 1 minute for the process to complete.
  • Upon reboot, ‘Safe mode’ appears in the lower left of the unlock/home screen.
Try to type a message and check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it might be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data first.
If you are still having the same problem even after a factory reset then this may already be a hardware related issue. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
M8 Can’t Hear Calls
ProblemHello, I have a HTC M8 and when I call someone they can hear me but I can’t hear them. what can I do to fix this? My provider is AT&T.
Solution: Have you verified if the volume is turned up? When the call is answered press on the Volume Up key until you hear the person on the other end. If the issue still persists try doing a soft reset by Pressing and holding the Power key and Volume Up key for 10 seconds. Try to make a call again and once the other person answers your call press the Volume Up button.
If at this point the issue still remains then this may already be a hardware related problem. You should bring the phone to an authorized service center for checking.

Now today i dropped my phone by mistake on the ground and the upper speaker wont work at all, what should i do now??
