Solution: If the phone damages your chargers then you should have this checked at an authorized service center. There could be some contacts that are shorted in the device which is causing this problem.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Powers Off When In Use

Samsung Galaxy S4 Powers Off When In Use.
Problem: My Galaxy S4 powers off while I am talking on it. It also powers off when I am texting and showing photos.I have changed batteries but it does not help.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Froze Then Shuts Off

Samsung Galaxy S4 Froze Then Shuts Off
Problem: basically it was at around 60% charge and phone froze which caused it to shut off and now it wont restart or recognize and chargers and even a new battery with full charge makes no difference plus the charging port is clean
Solution: This could already be a hardware problem. Have you checked if you can start the phone in recovery mode while the charger is connected? If you can then I suggest you immediately do a factory reset to eliminate any software related problems that could be causing this issue. If you are unable to access the recovery mode then you have to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Does Not Boot

Samsung Galaxy S4 Does Not Boot
Problem: I have Samsung Galaxy S4, I have been using this mobile since two years, all of a sudden its not working, when I reinsert the battery, it displays the model of the mobile and doesn’t start further. Please help with my issue.
Solution: If the phone does not go past the boot logo then there’s a possibility that this could be a software related issue. To troubleshoot this problem you need to take out the battery and the microSD card first. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. This will discharge the phone circuit then clear out its RAM. Try to turn on your phone and check if the issue disappears.
If the problem persists then you need to turn on your phone from the recovery mode. From here proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone. This will delete the temporary data stored in the device which could cause the problem.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider should the above troubleshooting steps fail is a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in this process so make sure to have a backup of your data before proceeding.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Buzzes When Switched On

Samsung Galaxy S4 Buzzes When Switched On
Problem: My fiance tried to power on his phone but it buzzed once and then this yellow screen with a static look to it popped up and then when black. This was after the yellow screen had just stayed there until the phone was powered off. He dropped his phone into the sink but the phone wasn’t even close to being submerged because it was empty. We don’t think its the battery because we tried mine and it did the same thing.
Solution: If this issue occured right after the phone was dropped in the sink then the issue is most likely caused by water damage. Try to dry the phone first by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours with the battery removed. After 48 hours reinsert the battery then turn on the phone. If it doesn’t turn on then connect it to its wall charger and let it charge for 20 minutes then turn on the phone again.

If the issue persists then I suggest you bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Does Not Switch On Or Charge

Samsung Galaxy S4 Does Not Switch On Or Charge
Problem: Hi, My samsung galaxy s4 does not switch on nor does it show that the device is charging. I’ve used several new batteries and new chargers the phone refuses to do anything. While on charge the processor does heat up and so does the battery
Solution: This issue could already be hardware related. You can however do some additional troubleshooting steps such as cleaning the phone charger port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then try to turn it on.

You should also try to discharge your device. To do this just take out the battery and the microSD card. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. Check if you are able to turn on the phone. If the problem persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Switches Off Does Not Restart Issue

Samsung Galaxy S4 Switches Off Does Not Restart Issue

S4 Switches Off Does Not Restart
Problem: My phone was working perfect this morning then suddenly switched off and would not restart.  I took the battery out the back and put it back in and it came up with Android initialising then when blank again.  It has not powered up still 3 hours later.  I have took the battery out again and still nothing however when I press the button on the side to switch it on it buzzes but nothing happens.  Can you please advice me?  Many thanks.
Solution: There are a couple of factors that we should check for this type of issue. The first thing to do is to check if the issue is caused by a weak battery. Try connecting the phone to a wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. With the charger still connected try to turn on the phone. If the issue does not occur then it’s possible that it could be caused by the battery. If this is the case then you should get a new battery.
Another possible reason why this problem exists is because of a glitch in the phone data or software.
To troubleshoot this scenario you need to take out the battery and microSD card ( if you have one attached). Press and old the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. Turn on your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will delete the temporary data in your device. Restart your phone then check if the problem still occurs.
If at this point the issue still occurs then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. The best way to do a factory reset is through the recovery mode. If you are unable to access this mode then the issue could already be hardware related. If this is the case then you should have you phone checked at an authorized service center.

Samsung Note 4 Shuts Off When Snapchat Is Used

Samsung Note 4 Shuts Off When Snapchat Is Used
Problem: My Samsung Note just shuts off whenever I open the Snapchat app. And when I try to turn it on, it just keeps shutting off and turning on, on its own. The only time I’m able to fully start it, is when it’s plugged into a charger.
Solution: This issue could be caused by some form of corrupt data in your phone. Try clearing the cache and data of the Snapchat app then uninstall it. Start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device. Restart your phone normally then download a fresh version of Snapchat from the Google Play Store. If the problem still occurs backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue remains then try getting a new battery.

Samsung Note 4 Continuously Turns Off

Samsung Note 4 Continuously Turns Off
Problem: My phone continually turns off and on regardless of the charge. I have tried a soft reset and have also done a factory reset. I have also recently gotten a new battery.
Solution: If a factory reset fails to resolve the problem then this could be a hardware related issue. You should however check if the issue occurs even when your phone starts in recovery mode. If the issue does not occur in recovery mode then the problem could be with the phone software. You should consider flashing your phone with an updated stock firmware. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the issue occurs even in recovery mode then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

Samsung Note 4 Turns Off Everytime Camera Is Used

Samsung Note 4 Turns Off Everytime Camera Is Used
Problem: My Note 4 turns off everytime I use my camera. It never turns on until I connect the device to the charger. And my battery never gets fully charged, it just stays in 80%. Plz help
Solution: Try checking first if a third party app is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check the camera in this mode. If the issue does not occur then an app could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before doing this procedure.

If the issue still occurs after a factory reset then the problem could be caused by a faulty hardware. Try replacing the battery with a new one. If this doesn’t work then have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

Samsung Note 4 Shuts Down When Battery Reaches 30%

Samsung Note 4 Shuts Down When Battery Reaches 30%
Problem: When my battery reaches approximate 30% it auto shuts down and when i boot it up it becomes 0% is the cause of this ,my battery? Maybe it’s faulty? I have been using my note 4 for about a year and a half should i get a new battery?

Solution: It looks like the battery of your phone is already faulty. Try backing up your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your device yet. Check first if the issue remains. If it does then proceed with getting a new battery.

Samsung Note 4 Does Not Hold A Charge

Samsung Note 4 Does Not Hold A Charge
Problem: My phone will not hold a charge..it will only stay on when plugged into outlet otherwise it would turn off and turn self back on continuously on its own. Now it wont stay on for anything.
Solution: There’s a possibility that this issue could be caused by a weak battery. Try getting a new battery first then check if the issue gets fixed.

If the problem remains even with a new battery then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. With the charger still connected turn on your phone then backup your data. Once a backup has been made I suggest you do a factory reset.

Samsung Note 4 Charges Slow After 80%

Note 4 Charges Slow After 80%
Problem: Recently my note 4 charge really slow after 80%, and stops around +/-85%, secondly, the battery can only stand till 10-20%, the phone will automatically switch off. Recently I notice also, before it switch off, my phone will deactivate all my phone line, once start charging, the phone line will be back to normal. Lastly the problem that I am facing is also, when my phone is 10-20% battery, I plugged to charge, the battery will 1st decrease the % to 0%, after that it will only start charging like normal 0-85%.
Solution: It appears that your phone has a faulty battery. Try replacing this battery with a new one then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Use a different charger and charging cord. While this may not resolve the issue of your phone turning off on its own it will address the slow charging issue that you are experiencing.
  • Clean the phone charging port with a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Again, this is meant to address the slow charging problem.
  • Backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Sometimes if a phone turns off on its own it means that there is a problem with the phone software. A reset is highly recommended in this case.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Will Not Charge Issue

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Will Not Charge Issue.

Note 4 Will Not Charge
Problem: I just paid $470 for my new Note 4 and it will not charge to 100%.  I will plug it in at night at 60% and by the time I wake up 6-7 hours later it’s only at 70%.  It says it’s fast charging. I am using the cable that came with it.  The “fast charging” section is checked.  My husband is already pissed I already spent this much on a new phone….any help would be awesome!
Solution: If this is a new phone then it should be able to charge properly unless there are issues with the hardware or software. Even with fast charging not checked the phone should charge to 100% in a span of 7 hours.
The first thing that you should check in this case is to verify if the charger is getting continuous power from the power outlet. Try charging your phone from a different outlet then check if the battery charge rises.
The next thing you should check is the charger itself. Sometimes, even if the charger is new, it will have some issues. Try using a different charger and different charging cord when charging your phone.
Moving to the phone itself, a software issue can also cause the device to charge slowly. In this case I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Instead, charge your device and check if the problem disappears.
If the issue remains even after a reset then you should consider returning the device and asking for a replacement if it is still under warranty.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Can’t Access Wi-Fi

Samsung Galaxy S4 Can’t Access Wi-Fi
Problem: I have 2 of these phones. They are currently locked until I pay off the bill. I was told that I can still use these phones as wifi only. I plan to use them for music or podcast downloads. However…no matter what I do…I can’t access any wifi services. How can I use these phones? I can’t find anything on the internet that helps me. Thank you.
Solution: Make sure to turn on the Wi-Fi switch of the phone then let it scan for any available network. If you see your network in the list then connect to it. You may need to enter the network password. Once connected the phone should be able to go online.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Wi-Fi Keeps On Asking For Password

Samsung Galaxy S4 Wi-Fi Keeps On Asking For Password
Problem: My WiFi keeps on asking for a password again and again.I would like to attach some screenshots of the settings of the advanced WiFi settings.
Solution: Try forgetting the Wi-Fi connection then connect to it again. If this does not work then restart your phone and the router. Try connecting to the Wi-Fi network again the check if the issue still occurs. If it does then start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This deletes the temporary data stored in your phone that could be causing the problem. You should also try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network to check if the problem is caused by the router you are trying to connect to.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Not Connecting To 3G

Samsung Galaxy S4 Not Connecting To 3G
Problem: After a factory reset done due to full internal memory, the 3g has stopped working! The icon is turning green but the mobile is not connecting and the mobile is not receiving the configuration message from the operator as well. Before the message was arriving immediately. The connection is configured well manually and the sim card is working in 3g with my old galaxy s3 mini. Thanks
Solution: Since you can connect to mobile data when the SIM card is transferred to another device then we can eliminate any account or network signal related problems that can cause this issue. The most probable cause behind this is that the APN settings of your phone does not match the one you network is using. I suggest you compare your phone APN settings to the one your network is using then make the necessary changes if needed.

S4 Mobile Data Turns On Automatically
Problem: My daughter has an issue with the mobile data turning itself on, we’ve tried everything, could it be a virus ? Please help because it’s draining all her pre paid credit and costing us a fortune and thanks so much in advance
Solution: There’s a possibility that an app installed in the phone is causing this behavior. Try to start the phone in Safe Mode then observe if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still persists even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup the phone data then do a factory reset.

Problem: My s4 won’t open my works Wi-Fi log in page, it connects to the Wi-Fi but just won’t open the log in page or let me go to it manually. Only thing that has changed is i recently updated to 5.0.1 Every other Wi-Fi is fine just not with this portal.

Solution: Try forgetting the Wi-Fi connection then connect to it again. If the issue still persists then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recover mode. This will delete the temporary data stored in your phone which if corrupted can cause this problem.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs. Sometimes an app you downloaded can cause this problem. This is how you check if this is the case. If you are able to connect to your work Wi-Fi on this mode then the problem could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Do a factory reset. This will bring your phone back to its original condition. Make sure to backup your phone data before performing this.
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 Auto Connect to Wi-Fi Option Missing

Samsung Galaxy S4 Auto Connect to Wi-Fi Option Missing
Problem: Hello there. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9195 Android version 4.4.2. For some time I have the problem of losing WIFI password. I was happy to find a solution in your article about this: http://thedroidguy.com/2013/08/galaxy-s4-asks-for-wifi-password-every-time-wifi-turns-itself-off-automatically-70074. However, on my phone on the WIFI > Advanced screen the “auto connect” option simply does not appear. Any ideas?
Solution: Is your phone still running on its stock software? If it is then try to update your phone software to the latest version then check if the auto-connect option on the Wi-Fi settings appears.
You should also backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset check for the auto-connect option.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Does Not Turn On

Samsung Galaxy S4 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Does Not Turn On
Problem: My wifi will not enable, I try to turn it on, the phone thinks for a min then shows wifi as off. My blue tooth also does the same thing. I have factory reset the phone several times, tried safe mode, still same issue. Please help!!!!
Solution: Unfortunately this issue looks like a hardware problem already. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of your phone is handled by a single IC and a single capacitor. Since you are having an issue with both features then it’s either the IC or the capacitor that is defective. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center to determine the exact cause of this problem.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Cannot Connect To Wi-Fi Issues

    S4 Cannot Connect To Wi-Fi
Problem: I cannot connect to Wifi no matter where i am. even when i turn wifi on, it never actually turns on completely.  i restarted my phone, and turned it off, took the battery out, and turned it back on. i still can’t get it to connect to wifi
Solution: Does the Wi-Fi icon turn green then  grey? If it does then this could be a hardware issue. Try to backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything on the device yet. You should check first if the Wi-Fi can be turned on. If it does not turn on then this is most likely a hardware problem. If this is the case then  I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center. Its either the  Wi-Fi/Bluetooth IC or the Wi-Fi Bluetooth capacitor could be damaged.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Flickers

    S4 Flickers
Problem: My phone flickers when I am trying to use it. It does this for a few seconds then comes back on then does it again. I have tried removing battery, virus scan, safe mode, etc and nothing is fixing this problem. I need some help please. Thanks
Solution: Try starting your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your phone. This procedure deletes the temporary data in your phone which could be causing this problem.
If the issue still persists then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the reset fails to resolve the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Can’t See Anything On Screen
Problem: this is my phone from a while ago so i don’t remember what happened. i can charge it but the screen wont show up. the only thing that will is a blue and green dot on the upper left corner. i can feel it vibrate. a couple minutes ago i turned it on but couldn’t see anything. i could only hear the notifications.
Solution: The problem is most likely caused by a damaged display. You should however check if the phone software is causing this issue by starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest you perform a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so only consider this is you have a backup copy or if you are willing to lose your phone data.
If you are unable to access the recovery mode then chances are the display is defective. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen Went Black After Getting Wet By Soda

Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen Went Black After Getting Wet By Soda.
Problem: Was carrying my phone in a bag and my soda leaked onto my phone.  I took it apart immediately wiped it down, took out the battery, checked for any more liquid and found none.  Put the phone back together, used it for about an hour then the screen went black.  The phone is on, the lights on the bottom work, but no screen….took it back apart, put it in rice bag overnight…no help
Solution: The difficult part about troubleshooting a water damaged phone is that the issues may not show immediately. It could take hours, days, or even weeks before the the issue shows up after the phone gets wet. In this case, the screen is not working after an hour of getting wet. Try to check if you are able to start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Do this at your own risk since your phone data will be deleted. If you are unable to access the recovery mode then the phone display could be damaged by the soda. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen Blank After Replacing Digitizer

Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen Blank After Replacing Digitizer

Problem: My phone screen was damaged so I bought a new digitizer. I tried it before installing and it worked. Now after installation the screen is blank. Can you help me Thanks
Solution: Something may have gone wrong during the installation of the digitizer. Try to start your phone in recovery mode first. If you are able to access this mode then the issue could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. I suggest you do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that your phone data will be deleted when you do this so make sure to have a backup before performing this procedure.
If this is a hardware problem then I suggest you open your phone again then retrace the steps that you performed. There may be a loose connection somewhere or the digitizer/ screen may be damaged.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Display Won’t Turn On After Getting Wet

Samsung Galaxy S4 Display Won’t Turn On After Getting Wet.
Problem: I dropped my phone in water but have a case on. the phone didn’t seem to get wet but I took the case off to make sure all was dry and apart to make sure it was ok. When I put it back together it gave me the android pic and factory mode do not turn off, I think I turned it off by accident in my pocket. Now the screen wont turn on only the home lights on the bottom. And the colored led lights how can I fix this problem
Solution: If your phone got dropped in water then you should assume that it’s internal hardware got wet. Remove the battery and case then place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours press and hold the power button for at least a minute before reinserting the battery. Try to turn  on your phone. If it doesn’t turn on connect it to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Turn on your phone with the charger still connected. If it doesn’t turn on then check if you can access the recovery mode. In this mode you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
If the issue persists then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Problem: Just black screen, and light on the bottom not screen part. About once at 1 hour it switch on and again black screen. T-mobile provider. Just have paid for the phone. Previous LG had the same issue
Solution: Just like the problem we tackled above this issue seems to be caused by a damaged phone display. You should however check first if this issue is caused by a software problem by attempting to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data so only do this if you have a backup copy of your data. If you are unable to access the recovery mode then this is most likely a hardware problem already. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked,

     S4 Screen Is Completely Black
Problem: My screen is completely black. My phone still gets notifications and vibrates and makes noise when it does. When I hit the power button, the buttons on the bottom (the pancake and arrow) light up, but the screen stays black. How can I fix this? Will I be able to replace it without paying a huge amount?
Solution: Did this problem occur after you dropped your phone? If you dropped your phone then this could damage the phone display which may have happened in this case.
To troubleshoot this problem try to start your phone in recovery mode. It’s possible that you will be able to view the different options in this mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to proceed with this if you have a backup copy.
If you are unable to access the recovery mode the this issue is most likely caused by a damaged display. You can have this checked and replaced if necessary  at an authorized service center. A replacement display usually costs around US$100.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Freezes When Making A Call

S4 Freezes When Making A Call
Problem: During a call, the mobile will act like it has no signal even though it does, and it will freeze when I try to end the call, so I have to restart the screen. It’s only when I make calls, and sometimes strange sound effects will happen too! What do I do? Oh, and the data internet never works either, no matter what I do.
Solution: Have you tried to check if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to its wall charger? If it doesn’t occur then the problem could be caused by a weak battery. Get a new battery then see if this fixes the problem.
Some form of corrupt data in your phone could also be causing this problem. Try to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Solution: Try to see if wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode will help resolve the problem.
Another factor that can cause this issue is the microSD card of your phone. If you have one installed then try to take it out.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
