How to Update Samsung Galaxy S6 to Android 5.1.1 G920TUVS3DOJC Lollipop, December 2015

The manufacturers of the handset have released a new official firmware for the device. if you want to update your T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6, you can update it easily by following this article. - Please know that this post is for only Samsung S6 T-Mobile users. the device model which is compatible is SM – G925T. you can check the model number of your phone by going into settings > about phone.
- Please install the USB drivers for your phone before starting the process.
- Download and install the latest Odin App in your PC.
- Please disable any antivirus app and firewall app before starting the update. also, disable the Samsung Kies app.
- Please enable USB debugging option before starting the process, you can enable it by going to settings > about phone > tap several times 5-8 in the built number. now go to settings > developer option > USB debugging > enable it.
- Please note that the root access of your device will be revoked after this process. you will need to root your device again to gain root access.
- You can do this process even if you have installed a custom ROM in your device. if you are installing over a custom ROM, you will need to perform a factory reset operation after installation.
- Please make sure that you have made a backup of your device using a backup and restore app. and note that you won’t be losing any data if you are currently running in the stock ROM.
How to Install Android 5.1.1 G920TUVS3DOJC in T-Mobile Galaxy S6
- Download the Installation firmware files from the link given here.
- After downloading, place the file in the desktop and extract. you will get a G920TUVS3DOJC tar.md5 firmware file. and stop extraction after obtaining the file.
- Download the Odin3 v3.10.6 zip here and install the program.
- Turn off your device and reboot the device in Download Mode.
- Please open Odin in your PC. Connect your device using USB cable. your device will be detected by Odin. if not please reinstall the USB drivers and reconnect it.
- In the Odin window, please disable the ‘Re-Partition’ option
- Go to AP button in the Odin app, and select the G920TUVS3DOJC tar.md5 firmware file that you have extracted before.
- Hit start to start the installation process.
- Odin app will show the pass message after the installation. and please don’t press any buttons in the middle of installation.
- please note that the initial boot will take more than 10 minutes, please be patient.
- Please make sure that you perform a factory rest if you are installing on top a custom ROM.
To perform a factory reset
- Power off the phone.
- Boot it in Recovery Mode.
- Select the ‘wipe data/ factory reset’.
- Confirm.
- Reboot the device in normal mode
